Hi Tony,
That dialog is new - google requires you to allow that if you want to use the account in Outlook.
Do you have 2 factor authentication enabled in Gmail?
Did you make any changes to your google security settings? (Gmail is good at tricking users into disabling 'allow less secure apps' )
Did you log into gmail.com and see if there are any security notifications that need OK'd?

I have the same exact issue. No 2 step authentication. No changes to Google security settings recently. No Gmail security warnings. The Google sign in window that pops up ends up being a circular loop. Email field>next>Password>next>Google help on cookies. That window has sign in at top right. Go through the process again w same result.

I've had this exact same issue.
I dont think it's an issue with Outlook, as I have 3 gmail accounts connected in my outlook, but the popup only appears for 1 of them.

The pop up appears to be genuine Google and the connection to server definitely lost. I did have Maleware giving random pop ups and warnings when I used Chrome but uninstalled it and fixed Windows files w/o issue for last 2 weeks until now.... Mapping is correct. Deleting temp files and restart does not help. Virus scan no results. Considering uninstalling and reinstalling Office 365

Hi Tony,
You can try using a Gmail application password if you have 2 step authentication set up in Gmail.

I've tried with both 2factor authorisation turned on and off.
Its currently turned on, so whenever I get the login request I have to tap accept on my mobile phone.
Oddly I've tried with the "Gmail Application Password" and it says the password is incorrect. I've tried creating multiple application passwords.
I've also tried removing access to "Microsoft Apps and Services" here - https://myaccount.google.com/u/1/permissions when putting password in and allowing access, the permission appears in there again.

Aha, I think I have solved the issue.
On my account I use my <account>@JRevell.com account to login. This is the original login which was associated to the google account.
Then many moons ago, I set gmail to pick up the email from the POP3 account and deposit it into a new gmail account (to give more storage). This gmail account is<account>@Gmail.com. However I always login using the original account details.
Within outlook, I've gone into the IMAP settings and change this to the @Gmail.com address instead of the original account name. After logging in again *touch wood* it's not asked me for the credentials again.
I hope this helps!

Any ideas how to resolve the google sign in pop up?

Like DJFD I am suddenly being asked to sign into my Google Account every time I launch Outlook. I don't want to do this and am getting fed up with these prompts. Help!

I started having this problem two days ago like other posters. I don't think that is a coincidence.
I have turned two-factor authentication on and all that did was require me to log in twice every few minutes. I tried the following:
- repair Outlook
- delete and re-install the Gmail account
- manually install the Gmail account
- reinstall Outlook
- log in to the Google account and look for notifications
I have wasted at least four hours on this and have no satisfaction. For now I am forced to use Mozilla Thunderbird, which has no problem with the Gmail account.
This seems clearly to be a Microsoft issue.
HELP!
